PONDERING... Some fun with Hercules

This is as video I use in the mythology course I teach in class (in case I'm absent).

Often I get asked how I can be a Christian and teach things like mythology.

Here's my rationale.

1. I love stories. Mythology is all about stories.

2. I don't believe any of these tales to be true. HOWEVER, there is a deeper truth revealed in these tales. Truth about man's search for God (what He has made clear about Himself ...Romans 1), truth about the sinfulness of man, truth about our need of salvation. Not to mention there are several significant commonalities between the mythological tales and Biblical accounts. Some would try and use this to try and refute the Bible. However, I think the clearer answer is that commonality points to common source.
