John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
TWO QUICK POINTS:
1. Christians WILL have God's Peace
Oh, what a blessing. Oh, how ignored. Jesus tells us that he gives us HIS peace. If we are a believer, good times and bad...temptation and trials, we are indwelled by God. We have His peace. Which leads to the question: Why don't you feel peace? 1- Not indwelled. 2- Not living for God. 3- Misunderstanding peace (It's more than a feeling...and not in the Boston kind of way)
2. His Peace is NOT like the World's
This world's peace is temporary and fickle. God's... is neither. He is all powerful. His peace is real. Furthermore, it's not what you're expecting. Peace is union with God, not tie-dyed shirts, bunnies, and flowers.
